Research Experience

· Ph.D. Program:

Essential Oils "Structural Investigation on Plant Constituents" deals with isolation and characterization of natural products. The results have led to partial synthesis of close analogues of unknown products.

· Seminar:

On Plant constituents having "Anti-tumor Characteristics" 

Research Interests:

· Synthesis of natural products essential oils oleo resins and gums.

· New synthetic methods in organic chemistry.

· Chemistry of selected insect pheromones attractants and repellants.

· The design and synthesis of organic metals - leading to conducting  polymer  composites.

· Synthesis of complexing agents for hydrometallurgy.

· Metal value extraction of poor ore, fly ash, red mud, cyanide dust etc.

· High temperature reactions.

On going Thrust area, R & D Projects:

· Reclamation of abandoned open mine pits for growing edible, non-edible and oil seed   bearing plants using thermal ash.

· Utilisation of red mud of aluminium industries for value added products.

· Utilisation of cyanide dust from gold mines for metal valve extraction.

· High temperature reactions for the development of intermetallics, ceramics and materials which eliminate secondary processing like casting and forging etc.

· Agro-based fuels for automobiles, furnaces, power generation, foundry and metallurgy.

· Development of additives for biodegradable lubricants.

Expertise in Research Field:

· Nominated member for RESEARCH ACTIVE COMMITTEE (RAC) for PhD. At FOREST RESEARCH INSTITUTE (FRI) Deemed University, Dehra Dun.

NGO Activities:

· Member, advisory committee Punyakoti Goshale Nyas (Trust) Kerekattiganoor, Nelamangala Taluk, Bangalore Rural, Sompur Hobli District, Karnataka.
