Present Research Work: Synthesis and Characterisation of transition metal complexes using N-heterocyclic ligands. Benzimidazole and its derivatives have been extensively studied in various fields. The complexes of benzimidazole and related ligands with transition metal salts exhibit antitumor, antibacterial, anticarcinogenic, anthelmintic, fungicidal and polio virus inhibitor activities. They also play an important role in catalysis and in several biochemical reactions. In addition to these the transition metal complexes containing benzimidazoles are widely used as catalysts for hydrogenation, hydroformylation, oxidations and other reactions.
