Dr. Sunitha Kumari M.R Designation: Assistant Professor Details of Service at M.S.R.I.T: 22 years Membership of Professional Societies: i. Member of ISTE ii. Life member, Forum of Chemistry Teacher in Engineering Colleges, Karnataka Qualifications: Msc., Ph. D Postdoctoral research: Solid State Chemistry Publications : 15 Research Interest: Polymers, Kinetics of solid state reaction A brief Account of Research Work 1) Ph.D. Programme, IPC Department, I.I.Sc. Title of Ph.D. Thesis: Mechanistic studies on the combustion and decomposition of solid Composite propellants: Effect of burning rate catalysts. Investigation were carried out on a few composite solid propellant systems with a view to understand (i) the role of condensed phase reactions and (ii) the effect and mechanism of action of transition metal oxides on the combustion of propellants. Post doctoral Research: (i) St. Francis Xavier University Antigonish, Nova Scolia Canada. Studies were solid state oriented involving simple inorganic synthesis, solid-state kinetics construction of phase diagrams and electrical conductivity measurements. (ii) Department of metallurgy, I.I.Sc. Beneficiation of coal and thermal studies.
