IEEE XPLORE:  TIPS FOR EFFECTIVE SEARCHING TRAINING PROGRAMME

We wish to organize IEEE training programme in our Main Library premises (ESB - 4th Level) on 5th May 2010, 3.30 – 4.30 PM for faculties & students.
 
Kindly we request to depute you’re in charge Dept.  Library faculty & Research Scholars to attend the programme.
 
Interested Faculties & students are also most welcome to attend the same.

Brief introduction on IEL:
 
The IEEE Xplore Digital Library provides access to over two million documents including research articles, standards, transactions and conference publications. 
 
Topics covered in training:
 
•             Broadening and narrowing searches
•             Using the Affiliation Field
•             Browsing for specific journals, conferences and standards
•             Creating email and RSS alerts
•             Understanding the many features of the Abstract Plus record
•             Using advanced operators (such as proximity) and advanced field codes in the               
               Advanced Search – Option 2
•             Using Session History to create more complex searches
•             Finding pre-print (aka forthcoming) articles
