Instructions to Freshers Academic year 2010-11

INSTRUCTIONS TO FRESHERS FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2010 – 2011

Kindly keep sufficient number (> 10) of attested copies of all the certificates including Admission order before submitting the original certificates to the authorities.

1.    These certificates are required while applying for Scholarship/ Bank Loan/ Education Loan/Passport etc.  Original documents will be returned to the candidate   only during the first week of March.

2.     If the candidate has obtained 80% and above in the qualifying examination and if his / her  parents annual income is less than Rs.4,50,000/-, then he / she is eligible for merit scholarship.  For details, log on to www.education.nic.in/scholarship/guidelines-collegestdnts.pdf.

3.    If the candidate belongs to SC/ST category and if he / she is selected the seat through KEA/ComedK/PGCET, he / she can collect the Application for Scholarship/Fee-reimbursement which is available in Admission & Scholarship Section. The candidate is required to submit the duly filled in Application with required attested copies of certificates to Admission Section within the stipulated date every year during the month of Sept./October.

4a)    If the candidate belongs to SC / ST Category   and his / her  parents Annual Income is below or equal to Rs.1,00,000/ then he / she is required  to register his / her  name on the Social Welfare Department website  for

4b) In case of Non-receipt of Scholarship/Fee-reimbursement from Social Welfare              Office / Director  of  Technical  Education,  Government  of  Karnataka  before             Commencement  of  even  semester examination,  the candidate  shall  have to pay the fee   prescribed by our Institution before appearing to the even semester examination             every year.

4.    If the candidate has been  selected through KEA/PGCET and belongs to CAT-1       (No Income limit)  IIA,IIB,IIIA & IIIB and his / her  parents annual income is less than or equal to Rs.11,000/-.  Then he / she is  eligible for Fee-concession and Extra Boarding and Lodging charges.  The candidate can collect and submit the duly filled in application with required attested copies of certificates, which are available in the admission and scholarship section within the prescribed date every year during the month of Sept./Oct.

5.    There is also a provision for scholarship / financial aid from Government Department / Public Sectors / Pvt. Trusts/Agencies for Merit Cum Poorer section of students, the list is announced on the notice board.  Eligible candidates can apply when the application is called for.

6.    All candidates are strongly advised and  informed to see the Notice Board & website regularly.  Please note that late submission of Application with regard to Scholarship, Examination, Re-Registration etc., will result in losing the benefits which the candidate is  eligible.

7.    Ragging in any form is strictly banned both inside and outside the campus. Indulging in Ragging will result in filing a criminal Police Case against the offender. The candidate found to indulge in Ragging will be dismissed from the institution.

8.    Use of Mobile is strictly banned inside the campus.

9.    There is no prescribed uniform but all the students  are required to come to college with decent dress.

10.   Keep your belongings safely.  The college authorities are not responsible for any loss.

11.    The classes for I Semester are likely to commence during the last week of August or first week of Sept.2010.  The exact date of commencement will be announced on the website: www.msrit.edu. Presence on reopening date is compulsory.

12.   The candidate shall maintain a minimum of 85% attendance in order to be eligible to qualify for writing end semester examination.

13.   Please read and understand the Autonomous Rules and Regulations which are currently in force and are available on website. In case of any doubt, please meet   Head of Department / Controller of Examinations / Registrar (Academic) / Principal.

14.   Annual tuition fee is payable every year during the month of July / August by D.D. drawn in favour of M.S.RAMAIAH INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, BANGALORE.   If the candidate does not pay the fees within the stipulated date, he / she will not be allowed to attend the classes.  In this regard, parents are advised and requested to confirm from the Accounts Section, well in time, whether the fees are actually paid in time by their wards.  This is particularly important if the parents are sending the fees through their wards so that they can avoid any future disciplinary action against their ward by the institute’s authorities.
